From learning Braille to finding an article, I turn everyday friction into tools people can use.

Before I build, I watch where people hesitate, repeat steps, or ask for help.
Assisting 40–50 customers per shift showed me where self-service flows create hesitation, repeated steps, and requests for help. I learned to notice friction before proposing a solution.
Testing with 20 learners at the Daegu Braille Library exposed gaps between my assumptions and how people actually navigated through touch, sound, haptics, and VoiceOver.

Hoon Maeng Jeong Eum began as an idea for independent Korean Braille learning. Listening at the Daegu Braille Library and testing with 20 learners changed both the interface and the way I understood accessibility.


I built a multimodal iOS experience for independent Korean Braille learning through touch, sound, haptics, and VoiceOver, then revised the interface around evidence from learners rather than my original assumptions.
Pilot-tested with 20 learners at the Daegu Braille Library, refined through their feedback, and released on the App Store.
Creating tactile room and bathroom signage across an entire school campus.
I created Braille translations for every room across the second, third, and fourth floors, as well as bathroom signage from the first through fourth floors. Working through FAB LAB, I led the project with Disability Awareness Club and Key Club.
The project establishes a consistent Braille signage system across academic floors and every bathroom level.
Reorganizing more than 200 articles into a clearer, more accessible home for Daegu International School journalism.

As Web Director in 2025, I divided the publication into focused sections and subsections so readers could find stories faster. As Technology Writer, I launched Technology within Arts & Entertainment and expanded our reporting beyond traditional A&E topics.
I led Jets Flyover to Best of SNO Site Excellence recognition in 2023 and 2025. The redesign made a large archive easier to scan while giving each desk a layout suited to its stories.

As Co-President and Student Coach, I lead 15 students across Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced tracks. I built a platform-independent, no-cost curriculum in Google Classroom and Jupyter Notebook.
I authored A Study Guide for American Computer Science League (Junior Division) and shared 50 copies across four Daegu local libraries.
